Come and discover on the back of our horses, an authentic jewel of the Sierra Gaditana, Los Llanos del Republicano. Located behind the beautiful mountain town of Villaluenga del Rosario, known among other things for the excellent production of "Payoyo" cheeses, a name it takes from the dominant variety of goat in the area. We will tour the immense valleys of the areas, passing along paths between cork oaks and holm oaks, at the end of which the "Sima del Republicano" awaits us, a cavity that presents beautiful kartic formations with a development of 1,100 meters deep and which is considered one of the speleological attractions of the area. It is in these plains where we will leave the horses to rest at the foot of those mountains and have a good lunch that we will carry in the saddlebags. The history of these plains tells that when the nationals took the towns of the mountains, some republicans sought refuge in the caves of the area, and others fled through these plains in the direction of the province of Malaga, which was still faithful to the constitutional government of the Republic. Two of these republicans died in these plains, and in their memory, the name of this place remains.
